Child Dental Benefit Schedule

Parkwood Dental is proud to treat patients eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). The CDBS is a Medicare program providing eligible children aged 2-17 years with access to $1000 worth of dental services every 2 calendar years.

It covers dental services including examinations, cleaning, dental X-rays, fillings, root canal treatments, fissure sealants, and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.

The program is means-tested and is available to those receiving the Family Tax Benefit Part A or any other qualifying Australian Federal Government Payment.

Parkwood Dental is committed to caring for your children’s dental health and ensuring that they are educated about the importance of their smile. Our dentists encourage parents to bring in their children from a young age, even if they have no problems, to allow them to become familiar with the dental environment, learn good dental habits and develop a healthy relationship with their dentist. As dental professionals, we find this leads to better oral health outcomes and reduces fears and anxieties.

At Parkwood Dental, all CDBS patients are bulk-billed up to the benefit limit.

You can check your child’s eligibility by calling us with your Medicare number or by contacting Medicare directly.
