Restorations (Fillings)

A dental restoration or dental filling helps restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. This structural loss typically results from caries, external trauma or wear of teeth due to acidic foods or grinding.
The extent /size of a filling on a tooth will determine the method and appropriate material to be used. Several materials such as dental composites, glass ionomers, amalgam, porcelain etc. are used to restore a tooth to good form and function.
